Maps from your spreadsheet
MapifyStats is an independent website with a free, browser-based map maker and sourced U.S. data briefs. You can shade U.S. states by value or plot places from latitude and longitude, choose a color scale, and download a PNG or editable SVG.
The map maker accepts CSV files and cells pasted from Excel or Google Sheets. It checks your rows, makes unmatched or invalid data visible, and lets you review the metric and units before replacing your map. You do not need an account.
Sources you can check
Our data briefs link to the original source, describe the measures and calculations, and provide downloadable data alongside the map. Exact figures remain available in tables, so color is not the only way to read a result.
- Population growth and domestic migration use the U.S. Census Bureau's Vintage 2025 estimates.
- Electrician wages use the Bureau of Labor Statistics' May 2025 Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics.
Population estimates can be revised. An occupation's mean wage describes a group, not the pay of every individual worker. Each brief explains its scope, vintage, and treatment of the District of Columbia. MapifyStats is not affiliated with or endorsed by these agencies.
Your data stays with you
The map maker processes selected files and pasted cells in your browser. MapifyStats does not upload that spreadsheet to a server. Your saved draft stays in that browser until you reset it or clear the site's stored data.
Website visits and tool activity are measured separately from the cells you import. Read the Privacy Policy for details about saved drafts, analytics, hosting, and advertising.
An independent project
MapifyStats focuses on practical maps for reports, presentations, and exploring public data. The site is maintained as an independent project. Related geographic work is available at CFBTrack's map desk.
