Who this policy covers

This policy covers MapifyStats at mapifystats.com, an independent map-making website. The map maker does not require an account or payment. For questions about this policy, use the contact details on our Contact page.

Map data and saved drafts

Files you select and cells you paste into the map maker are processed in your browser. We do not upload those cells, labels, coordinates, titles, or file contents to a MapifyStats server. PNG and SVG exports are generated in your browser and downloaded to your device.

The tool saves your accepted draft and unfinished import review in the browser's local storage so you can return to your work. Local storage is different from an advertising cookie. Drafts are not synchronized between devices and remain until you reset the draft, clear site data, or your browser removes it.

To remove a draft, select Reset in the map maker and confirm the reset. You can also clear stored data for mapifystats.com in your browser settings. Clearing local data cannot remove files you have already downloaded or shared.

Visits, analytics, and hosting

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and tool features people use. Analytics may use cookies and receive technical information such as browser and device details, identifiers, referring pages, and approximate location.

Our tool events describe activity such as map mode, row count, render reason, file size, and export format. They do not include spreadsheet cells, file names, point or state labels, map titles, or the contents of your uploaded data.

Cloudflare hosts and protects the site. Delivering a page involves technical connection information, including an IP address and request details. The homepage also requests fonts from Google Fonts; those requests send technical information to Google.

Read Google's Privacy Policy and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for their handling of information.

Google advertising

MapifyStats includes a Google AdSense account verification tag. The tag itself does not load ads or set advertising cookies. The disclosures below apply when Google advertising is served on the site.

Third-party advertising vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this website or other websites. Google's advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to show ads based on visits to this site and other sites on the Internet. Advertising services may also use web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers to deliver, measure, and protect ads.

You can turn off personalized Google advertising in Google's ad settings. You can also manage participating companies' personalized-advertising cookies through AdChoices. Turning off personalization does not necessarily remove all ads or cookies.

Learn about Google's advertising technologies and partners. If additional advertising vendors are used, their identities and choices will be disclosed here or in the advertising consent message.

Cookies and your choices

  • Manage or block cookies and stored site data through your browser settings. Blocking local storage can prevent the map maker from saving a draft.
  • Google provides an Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers.
  • Manage personalized advertising through Google's ad settings and the advertising choices linked above.

If advertising consent controls are presented, use them to make or change your choices. This policy is a disclosure, not a substitute for a consent choice.

Contact messages

If you email us, we receive the address, message, and attachments you choose to send through email services. We use them to answer your question, investigate a reported problem, or handle your request, and keep correspondence as needed for those purposes and relevant records.

Do not send private spreadsheets or sensitive personal details when reporting an issue. Public GitHub reports are visible to others and handled under GitHub's Privacy Statement.

You can contact us to ask about or request deletion of information you have provided directly. We cannot access or delete a map draft stored only in your browser; use the local controls described above.

Links to source agencies, CFBTrack, GitHub, Google, and other websites take you to services with their own privacy policies. Their information practices are separate from this policy.

Updates and questions

When our information practices change, we will update this page and its date. Questions about the policy or your information can be sent to jeremyconger64@gmail.com. Our Contact page explains what to include when reporting a problem.
