How to read this comparison
Electricity needed = monthly miles × kWh per 100 miles ÷ 100 ÷ charging efficiency. Home-charging cost = electricity needed × state residential price. Gasoline fuel cost = miles ÷ mpg × your entered gasoline price.
The default gasoline price and vehicle efficiencies are editable example assumptions. This compares fuel spending only: purchase price, insurance, maintenance, public charging, installation and taxes are outside the result. Zero driving produces zero fuel spending; an unavailable state rate never becomes free charging.
