Manzanita Lake is the largest campground in the park. Located next to Manzanita Lake near the park's northwest entrance, campers can easily enjoy swimming, fishing, kayaking, and hiking. This campground tends to have the longest open season in the park and includes tent sites, car/vehicle camping sites, and group campsites. Manzanita Lake is an NPS-managed campground; concession concession-managed glamping tents and cabins are located nearby.

Reservations are required for all sites in the 2024 season. Reservations can be made up to the day of arrival. It is best to reserve prior to arriving at the park due to limited connectivity. Reservations can be made 6 months in advance up to the day of arrival. Park staff does not handle reservations. Camping fee is reduced $15 when water is turned off, typically in mid-October.

Group campsite
$72 · Group site joining two or more adjacent campsites (B20-22, B24-27, B28-30, B31-32, B33-34). Limited to 10-25 people and 6 vehicles (including RVs).
One-room camping cabin
$76 · One-room rustic camping cabin available by reservation only. All cabins include bed(s), propane heater, battery-powered lantern, bear proof food storage box, fire ring, and picnic table. Central restrooms and showers are located nearby. Both shower areas have an ADA accessible stall with bench seat and hand rails. ADA accessible cabins with ramps are also available. The mattress provided are 3 inches and firm so we encourage you to bring additional bedding; sleeping bags, comforters and blankets.
Two-room camping cabin

Accessibility and facilities

Accessible cabins include a ramp, wheel-chair accessible picnic table, and rigid ground surface outside the cabin. The Manzanita Lake Camper Store offers an accessible shower stall with a bench seat and hand rails.

No Internet access available in the Manzanita Lake Area. Free WiFi is available inside the Kohm Yah-mah-nee Visitor Center, 30 miles south.

Cell service is extremely limited in the campground. Nearest reliable cell service is located two miles away at Chaos Crags pullout on the park highway.
fire Stove Policy
Do not cut, saw, or break any standing trees, dead or alive for firewood. You may gather dead wood that is down on the ground within 30 feet of the road and less than 4 inches in diameter. Chainsaw use is not permitted. Fires are allowed only in designated fire grates. Do not build rock rings or burn trash in the grate. Never leave fires or hot coals unattended and extinguish them completely before leaving.

Source: National Park Service API for sites, facilities, campground locations and published fee entries; NPS Public Use Statistics for monthly recreation visits, 1979–2025. Snapshot retrieved 2026-10-03. 474 NPS site records include 62 national-park API records; Sequoia and Kings Canyon share one API record. These record counts are not the official count of individually designated parks. 392 API site records have matched visitation history, including the separately reported Sequoia and Kings Canyon visit totals combined for their shared API record. 665 campgrounds are included.

Complete monthly series reconcile with the source’s annual totals. Published annual totals remain available for years with partial monthly reporting. Four monthly entries contain negative accounting corrections. They remain in the archived data and annual totals, and are unavailable as ordinary monthly visit counts. Blank data is not zero. Recreation visits are visits, not unique people. Month as percent of annual peak = selected month visits ÷ largest monthly count that year × 100, requiring twelve nonnegative monthly values. This helps compare recorded seasonality; it is not a crowding forecast, reservation forecast, or present-condition report.
