The campground is typically open May through October. Reservations can be made up to one month in advance. All sites are reservation only. The campground is situated along the East Fork of the Kaweah River. There are limited services at Silver City Resort, 1.7 miles (3 km) east of the campground. More services can be found in Three Rivers, 23 miles (37 km) west of Atwell Mill Campground (approximately 1.5 hours away).

Access Pass or Senior Pass Camping Fee
$16 · This fee covers up to six people at a single campsite per night. Access or Senior Passes provide a 50 percent discount on some amenity fees charged for facilities and services such as camping, swimming, boat launch, and specialized interpretive services. This does not apply to group campsites.

In summer, fire restrictions may be in effect if conditions are dry, even at higher-elevation campgrounds. When fire danger is very high, wood and charcoal fires (including campfires in fire rings and wood-burning stoves) may be prohibited. Check current fire restrictions online or at park bulletin boards before you camp.

You are required to store food properly in order to protect bears. Each campsite has a large food storage locker (47”W x 33”D x 28”H) that is resistant to bears when properly latched. For more information: https://www.nps.gov/seki/planyourvisit/bears.htm.

Snapshot retrieved 2026-10-03. 474 NPS site records include 62 national-park API records; Sequoia and Kings Canyon share one API record. Complete monthly series reconcile with the source’s annual totals. Published annual totals remain available for years with partial monthly reporting. Four monthly entries contain negative accounting corrections. They remain in the archived data and annual totals, and are unavailable as ordinary monthly visit counts. Blank data is not zero. Recreation visits are visits, not unique people. Month as percent of annual peak = selected month visits ÷ largest monthly count that year × 100, requiring twelve nonnegative monthly values. This helps compare recorded seasonality; it is not a crowding forecast, reservation forecast, or present-condition report.

Activities and amenities reflect published NPS entries, rather than a guarantee of access on a particular day. Fees and pass categories are dated 2026-10-03; official site and reservation links provide current conditions and rules. Campground points are published NPS coordinates.
