Open full profile →

Camp Goodwill was the first camp in the park completed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930's. It sleeps 205 visitors. Stone foundations, fireplaces and whole log supports showcase the rustic architecture and beautiful native materials used by the CCC. The sleeping cabins in this camp host 2 to 10 campers per unit and are newer construction (circa 1980s). Some cabins in the D unit have ramps to the doorways. This camp is not available to rent as it is used by NPS park partner, NatureBridge.

Camp Goodwill (Cabin Camp 1) is not available for reservation as NatureBridge, a National Park Service (NPS) partner for outdoor educational programs, has exclusive use of the camp under agreement with the NPS.

additional Info
Cabin Camp 1 has a designated parking area. One vehicle is permitted to remain at the dining hall throughout your encampment. If a member of your group has a vehicle with handicap license plate or hangtag, they are allowed to park that vehicle at the dining hall. Campers are allowed to park at the dining hall to unload vehicles, but once they are unloaded they must be parked in the designated parking area. No more than two vehicles can be parked behind the dining hall at one time. It is recommended that visitors carpool as much as possible. There is a large field area available for recreational sports. Access to Lake 1 is a short walk from the C Unit of the camp. Hiking and biking trails are a short distance from the camp.

SOURCES & DEFINITIONS

Know what the map counts.

Source: National Park Service API for sites, facilities, campground locations and published fee entries; NPS Public Use Statistics for monthly recreation visits, 1979–2025. Snapshot retrieved 2026-10-03. 474 NPS site records include 62 national-park API records; Sequoia and Kings Canyon share one API record. These record counts are not the official count of individually designated parks. 392 API site records have matched visitation history, including the separately reported Sequoia and Kings Canyon visit totals combined for their shared API record. 665 campgrounds are included.

Complete monthly series reconcile with the source’s annual totals. Published annual totals remain available for years with partial monthly reporting. Four monthly entries contain negative accounting corrections. They remain in the archived data and annual totals, and are unavailable as ordinary monthly visit counts. Blank data is not zero. Recreation visits are visits, not unique people. Month as percent of annual peak = selected month visits ÷ largest monthly count that year × 100, requiring twelve nonnegative monthly values. This helps compare recorded seasonality; it is not a crowding forecast, reservation forecast, or present-condition report.

Activities and amenities reflect published NPS entries, rather than a guarantee of access on a particular day. Fees and pass categories are dated 2026-10-03; official site and reservation links provide current conditions and rules. Campground points are published NPS coordinates. Offshore sites can be viewed on the world extent. Broader public-land agencies are outside this reviewed NPS snapshot.
