The campground is typically open May through October. Reservations can be made up to one month in advance. All sites are reservation only. Just 0.75 miles (1.2 km) from Cedar Grove Village, Moraine Campground rests in the heart of King Canyon. It is located along the South Fork of the Kings River under stands of evergreen trees at an elevation of 4,600 feet (1,400 m). Visit Cedar Grove Village for services such as showers and food.

The campground is paved and relatively level. There are accessible routes from sites to campground facilities, including an accessible restroom.
fire Stove Policy
In summer, fire restrictions are often in effect in this campground due to dry conditions and the potential for accidental human-caused fire. When fire danger is very high, wood and charcoal fires (including campfires in fire rings and wood-burning stoves) may be prohibited. Restrictions change as weather and fire conditions change. Check current fire restrictions online or at park bulletin boards before you camp.

The length of RV or trailer that can be accommodated varies by site. The campground has no hookups or dump stations. The nearest dump station (available in the summer only) is at Princess Campground along Highway 180 at the Hume Lake junction in Sequoia National Forest.

Complete monthly series reconcile with the source’s annual totals. Published annual totals remain available for years with partial monthly reporting. Four monthly entries contain negative accounting corrections. They remain in the archived data and annual totals, and are unavailable as ordinary monthly visit counts. Blank data is not zero. Recreation visits are visits, not unique people. Month as percent of annual peak = selected month visits ÷ largest monthly count that year × 100, requiring twelve nonnegative monthly values. This helps compare recorded seasonality; it is not a crowding forecast, reservation forecast, or present-condition report.

Activities and amenities reflect published NPS entries, rather than a guarantee of access on a particular day.
