Hodgdon Meadow Campground is conveniently located along the Big Oak Flat Road at the Big Oak Flat Entrance. At an elevation of 4,900 feet (1,219 m), the campground is located along the western edge of the park, 25 miles and approximately 45 minutes from Yosemite Valley. There is a gas station and minimal convenience items located nearby at Crane Flat. Trailheads for both the Merced Grove and Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias are located within a short drive of the campground.
Reservations are required from April 15 through October 26, 2026. During the rest of the year, the entire campground (other than the group sites, which close) are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Campground reservations are available in blocks of one month at a time, up to five months in advance, on the 15th of each month at 7 am Pacific time. Be aware that nearly all campground reservations in Yosemite for the months of May through September and for some other weekends are filled the first day they become available, usually within seconds or minutes after 7 am Pacific time.

- Hodgdon Meadow: 105 sites with space for tents, RVs up to 35 feet, and trailers up to 27 feet. Not every site can accommodate equipment of these lengths. Be sure to read the site details when making a reservation on recreation.gov to ensure your equipment will fit into the site you're reserving. When making online reservations, you can filter available sites by entering the length of your RV.

- Each campsite contains a <b>fire ring</b>, <b>picnic table</b>, and a <b>food locker</b> and is near a <b>bathroom with drinking water and flushing toilets</b>. In Hodgdon Meadow food lockers measure 35"(D)x43"(W)x28"(H). The group sites have four food lockers. <b>Groceries:</b> Yosemite Valley (Yosemite Village Store; Curry Village Store; Yosemite Valley Lodge Store) and small grocery store at Crane Flat <b>Showers:</b> Yosemite Valley (Curry Village) <b>Dump station:</b> Available all year in Yosemite Valley (in Upper Pines Campground) or, summer only, near Tuolumne Meadows Campground. The Tuolumne Meadows dump station is closed until further notice due to work on the wastewater treatment plant. In addition to Upper Pines in Yosemite Valley, you can find other dump stations outside of the park in Lee Vining (for a fee).

Snapshot retrieved 2026-10-03. 474 NPS site records include 62 national-park API records; Sequoia and Kings Canyon share one API record. These record counts are not the official count of individually designated parks. 392 API site records have matched visitation history, including the separately reported Sequoia and Kings Canyon visit totals combined for their shared API record. 665 campgrounds are included.
Complete monthly series reconcile with the source’s annual totals. Published annual totals remain available for years with partial monthly reporting. Four monthly entries contain negative accounting corrections. They remain in the archived data and annual totals, and are unavailable as ordinary monthly visit counts. Blank data is not zero. Recreation visits are visits, not unique people. Month as percent of annual peak = selected month visits ÷ largest monthly count that year × 100, requiring twelve nonnegative monthly values. This helps compare recorded seasonality; it is not a crowding forecast, reservation forecast, or present-condition report.
Activities and amenities reflect published NPS entries, rather than a guarantee of access on a particular day. Fees and pass categories are dated 2026-10-03; official site and reservation links provide current conditions and rules. Campground points are published NPS coordinates.
