Camp HappyLand (Cabin Camp 5) is the only cabin camp open year-round. This camp offers the largest capacity (205 in summer, 104 in winter). Dormitory style buildings with heating were added to the camp in the 1960s allowing the camp to stay open in the winter at a limited capacity (104 people). Camp HappyLand is also the only cabin camp with a large outdoor pavilion. It is set up in two units with cabins that sleeps 2 to 4 people and larger dorm buildings that sleep 24.
Camp HappyLand (Cabin Camp 5) must be reserved ahead of time by visiting Recreation.gov. Contact the cabin camp division at 703-221-5843 or [email protected] for more information about the camp.

- The restrooms are wheelchair accessible. There is a boardwalk and ramp leading from near the pavilion to both the dining hall and the infirmary

- Cell phone coverage may be spotty to nonexistent depending on your carrier.

- Firewood purchased or brought from outside of the park must be USDA certified pest-free firewood. Campers may use downed and dead wood of less than 6 inches in diameter and no longer than the length and width of the provided camping grill. Electrical appliances (Stoves, AC Units, heaters, etc.) are prohibited.

- There are no RV hook-ups in the Cabin Camps. RVs and trailers are not allowed.

- Parking lots are generally small. Parking can be limited at times, especially during heavy rain events. Park management encourages you to carpool.

Snapshot retrieved 2026-10-03. 474 NPS site records include 62 national-park API records; Sequoia and Kings Canyon share one API record. Complete monthly series reconcile with the source’s annual totals. Published annual totals remain available for years with partial monthly reporting. Four monthly entries contain negative accounting corrections. They remain in the archived data and annual totals, and are unavailable as ordinary monthly visit counts. Blank data is not zero. Recreation visits are visits, not unique people. Month as percent of annual peak = selected month visits ÷ largest monthly count that year × 100, requiring twelve nonnegative monthly values. This helps compare recorded seasonality; it is not a crowding forecast, reservation forecast, or present-condition report.
Activities and amenities reflect published NPS entries, rather than a guarantee of access on a particular day. Fees and pass categories are dated 2026-10-03; official site and reservation links provide current conditions and rules. Campground points are published NPS coordinates. Offshore sites can be viewed on the world extent. Broader public-land agencies are outside this reviewed NPS snapshot.
